China’s Gansu net on October 27-according to a report by Gansu daily (reporter Yan cunyi), recently, the reporter learned from a press conference held by Lanzhou customs that in the first three quarters of this year, the total value of Gansu province’s foreign trade imports and exports was 27.71 billion yuan, of which the total value of exports was 9.6 billion yuan and the total value of imports was 18.11 billion yuan. In September alone, Gansu’s total foreign trade import and export value was 3.08 billion yuan, up 17.1% from the previous month.

In the first three quarters, our province’s foreign trade imports and exports showed the following characteristics:

ASEAN Becomes Gansu Province’s Second Largest Trade Partner. In the first three quarters, ASEAN became the second largest trading partner of Gansu Province for the first time. The total value of trade between Gansu Province and ASEAN was 2.93 billion yuan, up 37.8%, accounting for 10.6% of the province’s total foreign trade value. Kazakhstan and Mongolia are Gansu’s first and third largest trading partners respectively. The total import and export value of Gansu province and Kazakhstan is 4.13 billion yuan, accounting for 13.8% of the total import and export value of Gansu province. The total value of imports and exports with Mongolia was 2.9 billion yuan, accounting for 10.5% of Gansu’s total foreign trade value. During the same period, Gansu’s total import and export value to the countries along the “the belt and road initiative” was 15.08 billion yuan, up 0.4%, accounting for 54.4% of Gansu’s total foreign trade value, up 4.2 percentage points.

The leading role of private enterprises is more obvious. In the first three quarters, the import and export of private enterprises in Gansu Province was 11.87 billion yuan, up 6%, accounting for 42.8% of the total foreign trade value of Gansu Province, up 5.4 percentage points from the same period last year. During the same period, foreign-invested enterprises imported and exported 290 million yuan, up 66.1%.

Foreign trade import and export in the comprehensive protection zone continued to double. In the first three quarters, the import and export of Lanzhou New District Comprehensive Free Trade Zone totaled 1.83 billion yuan, up 1.9 times from the same period last year, driving the province’s import and export by 4 percentage points and becoming a “booster” for stabilizing foreign trade. Among them, exports were 1.18 billion yuan, up 1.8 times, while imports were 650 million yuan, up 2 times. The import and export of bonded logistics grew rapidly. With the continuous improvement of the functions of special customs supervision areas and bonded supervision sites, the businesses of import bonded, export tax rebate, bonded export, bonded storage and transit have developed rapidly. In the first three quarters, the import and export of the province’s bonded logistics trade increased by 21.1 times, accounting for 4% of the province’s total foreign trade import and export value, boosting the growth by 3.5 percentage points.

The structure of import and export commodities has been further optimized. In the first three quarters, Gansu imported 11.72 billion yuan of mineral products, up 18.3%. Imports of mechanical and electrical products totaled 1.94 billion yuan, up 6.6%. Nickel and cobalt materials import 970 million yuan, the above three commodities account for 80.8% of the total import value of our province.
