All products with CE mark can be sold in European member states without meeting the requirements of each member state, thus realizing the free circulation of goods within the EU member states.
In the EU market, CE mark is a mandatory certification. In order to circulate freely in the EU market, whether products produced by enterprises within the EU or products from other countries, CE mark must be affixed to show that the products meet the basic requirements of the EU Directive on New Methods for Technical Coordination and Standardization. This is a mandatory requirement for products under EU laws.
The following products require CE marking:
◆ Electrical products ◆ Mechanical products ◆ Toy products ◆ Radio and telecommunication terminal equipment ◆ Refrigeration and freezing equipment ◆ Personal protection equipment ◆ Simple pressure vessel ◆ Hot water boiler ◆ Pressure equipment ◆ Pleasure boat ◆ Construction products ◆ In vitro diagnostic medical devices ◆ Implantable medical devices ◆ Medical electrical equipment ◆ Lifting equipment ◆ Gas equipment ◆ Non-automatic weighing apparatus Note: The United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore and South Korea do not accept CE marks.
2、RoHS RoHS is the full name of the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electronic and electronic equipment, also known as the 2002/95/EC directive. In 2005, the EU supplemented 2002/95/EC in the form of 2005/618/EC resolution, specifying the maximum limits of six hazardous substances, namely lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr6), polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) and polybrominated biphenyl (PBB).
RoHS targets all raw materials and electrical and electronic products that may contain the above six hazardous substances in the production process, mainly including:
◆ White household appliances (such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, etc.), ◆ Black household appliances (such as audio, video products, DVD, CD, TV receiver, IT products, digital products, communication products, etc.), ◆ Electric tools, ◆ Electric electronic toys and medical electrical equipment, etc.
3、UL UL is a shorthand for Underwriter Laboratories Inc UL Safety Laboratory is the most authoritative in the United States and is a private organization engaged in safety tests and evaluations in the world.
It uses scientific testing methods to study and determine whether and to what extent various materials, devices, products, facilities and buildings are harmful to life and property. To determine, compile and issue corresponding standards and materials that help to reduce and prevent loss of life and property, and to carry out fact-finding business at the same time.
In a word, it is mainly engaged in product safety certification and business safety certification. Its ultimate aim is to obtain commodities with a fairly safe standard for the market and to make contributions to ensuring personal health and property safety. As far as product safety certification is concerned as an effective means to eliminate technical barriers to international trade, UL is playing an active role in promoting the development of international trade.
4、CCC CCC’s full name is China Compulsory Certification, which is China’s commitment to WTO and the principle of national treatment. The country uses mandatory product certification for 149 products in 22 categories. The name of the new national compulsory certification mark is “China Compulsory Certification”. After the implementation of China’s compulsory certification mark, it will gradually replace the original “Great Wall” mark and “CCIB” mark.
5、GS The full name of GS is Geprufte Sicherheit (Safety Certified), which is a safety certification mark issued by the German Labor Department authorized TüV, VDE and other institutions. GS mark is a safety mark accepted by the majority of customers in Europe. Generally, GS-certified products have higher unit price and sell better.
GS certification has strict requirements on the factory’s quality assurance system. The factory shall be subject to review and annual inspection:
The factory is required to establish its own quality assurance system according to the ISO9000 system standard when batch shipments are made. The factory must at least have its own quality control system, quality records and other documents and sufficient production and inspection capabilities; Before the GS certificate is issued, the new factory must be examined before the GS certificate is issued.
After the certificate is issued, the factory shall be examined at least once a year. No matter how many TUV logos the factory applies for, the factory only needs one review.
Products requiring GS certification include:
◆ Household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen utensils, etc.◆ Household machinery; ◆ Sports articles; ◆ Household electronic equipment, such as audio-visual equipment; ◆ Electrical and electronic office equipment, such as photocopiers, fax machines, shredders, computers, printers, etc.; ◆ Industrial machinery and experimental measuring equipment; ◆ Other safety-related products, such as bicycles, helmets, ladders, furniture, etc.
6、PSE PSE (Product Safety of Electrical Appliances & Materials) certification (called “fitness check” in Japan) is a mandatory market access system for Japanese electrical products and an important content stipulated in Japan’s “Electrical Products Safety Law”. At present, the Japanese government divides electrical appliances into “specific electrical appliances” and “non-specific electrical appliances” according to the provisions of Japan’s “electrical appliances safety law”, of which “specific electrical appliances” include 115 kinds of products; “Non-specific electrical supplies” include 338 products.
PSE includes the requirements of EMC and safety. Any product in the “Specific Electrical Products” catalog that enters the Japanese market must be certified by a third-party certification authority authorized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to obtain a certification certificate, and the label has a diamond PSE logo.
CQC is the only certification body in China that applies for Japanese PSE certification authorization. At present, CQC’s PSE product certification in Japan covers three categories: wires and cables (including 20 kinds of products), wiring appliances (electrical accessories, lighting appliances, etc., including 38 kinds of products), electrical power application machinery appliances (household appliances, including 12 kinds of products), etc.
7、FCC The Federal Communications Commission, the US Federal Communications Commission, coordinates domestic and international communications by controlling radio, television, telecommunications, satellites and cables. It involves more than 50 US states, Colombia and US-affiliated regions. Many radio applications, communication products and digital products require FCC approval to enter the US market.
FCC certification is also called Federal Communications Certification. Including computers, fax machines, electronic devices, radio reception and transmission equipment, radio remote control toys, telephones, personal computers and other products that may harm personal safety. If these products want to be exported to the United States, they must be tested and approved by a laboratory authorized by the government according to FCC technical standards. Importers and customs agents are required to declare that each radio frequency device complies with FCC standards, namely FCC licenses.
8、SAA SAA is certified by the Standards Association of Australia and represents that all electrical products entering the Australian market must comply with local safety regulations. As a result of the mutual recognition agreement between Australia and New Zealand, all Australian-certified products can enter the New Zealand market smoothly. SAA certification is required for all electrical products.
There are mainly two kinds of SAA logo, one is formal recognition and the other is standard logo. Formal certification is only for samples, while standard marks are subject to factory review. At present, there are two ways to apply for SAA certification in China. One is to pass the CB test report. If there is no CB test report, you can also apply directly.
